D1P XC
D1P XC — The PACE System · Cross Country Mental Performance Races aren't won by the fittest runner alone — they're won by the runner who stays calm on the line, runs relaxed when it hurts, and makes the right move at the right time. D1P XC trains the mental side of racing the same way you train the body: a little every day. This is a daily mental-performance session built for cross country and distance runners. In just 7 or 14 minutes, athletes run their race before they run it for real — building the calm, focus, and confidence that show up on race day. Choose a male or female coach, put your headphones on, and let the cinematic score and 14 Hz focus track carry you through five steps: Breathwork — two breathing modes runners actually use: Rhythm (breathe with your stride) and Calm (long exhales to settle the nerves). Race Visualization — Present · Attack · Compete · Endure — a guided race: control the start, settle into relaxed rhythm, attack the hills, make your move at the right time, pass runners late, and empty the tank through the line. Brainwork — quick daily drills that sharpen the racing mind: Number Grid, Colors, and Race Strategy (read the moment and call SETTLE / HOLD / SURGE / KICK before the clock runs out). Best-Self Studio — build and rewatch your own highlight reel of your best races. Mantra — strong, positive cues that build belief through repetition: Work hard, race brave, have fun · I can do hard things · Relax and roll, stay tall · Pass one, then one more. Built for middle school, high school, club, and college distance programs — for athletes and the coaches who lead them. Confidence is trained daily. Show up, do the work, and get one percent better every day. Work hard, race brave, have fun.
Adam Donald
Adam Donald is the Founder & CEO of Daily 1 Percent (D1P) — a mental performance movement and curriculum platform built around a practical, research-backed daily system for athletes, coaches, students, executives, and parents who want to perform at their best when it matters most. The Background That Makes This Different Adam's expertise in mental performance is built on three pillars that most coaches and consultants have only one of. First, the academic foundation. Adam holds a Master's in Educational Administration, a Certificate in Mental Performance Conditioning, and dual Bachelor's degrees from UC Davis. He has spent more than 20 years applying the science of human performance, social-emotional learning, and brain-based development in real classrooms, on real fields, and with real athletes at every level. Second, the athletic credibility. Adam played NCAA baseball at Fresno City College and UC Davis — giving him firsthand experience with the pressure-performance demands that his programs address. He has coached baseball, football, and soccer at the youth, high school, and college levels, and has served as an Athletic Director and multi-sport head coach in San Diego County, where he built programs and cultures from the ground up. Third, the performance stage. Before D1P, Adam spent more than 15 years as a major-label recording artist. — performing over 200 shows per year, often in front of audiences as large as 20,000 people. That career produced something no textbook can: a deeply lived understanding of what it takes to regulate your nervous system, execute your preparation under maximum pressure, and bring your best in the moments that count the most. What He Built D1P synthesizes all of it — the neuroscience, the sport psychology research, the classroom experience, the coaching, and the stage — into practical daily systems that build confidence, emotional regulation, and pressure-performance capacity one percent at a time. Every D1P program reflects Adam's core belief: mental performance is not a gift. It is a skill. And like every skill, it is built through deliberate, consistent practice — starting today.
